Rental Rates and what is included

Included with the venue rental, Barr Mansion provides white wooden folding chairs for your ceremony, custom artisan chairs for your reception, 60” round tables, linens, silverware, flatware, glassware, auxiliary tables, catering, a day-of coordinator and banquet manager. In addition, Barr Mansion offers in-house rental items and services that can be added onto the wedding package for an upcharge.

Barr Mansion has the capacity to service up to 300 guests. Restrictions apply in each venue space.

Requirements to book

Barr Mansion requires a signed contract along with a $4,500 deposit to secure a date.


Barr Mansion schedules tours for inquiries that have received estimates by appointment only during business hours from 10am-6pm on Mondays-Thursdays and 9am-2pm on Fridays-Sundays. Tour availability is subject to change due to event schedule.


Barr Mansion allows inquiries that have received estimates to place a courtesy “soft hold” on one date of interest for up to a month of time. Date availability is subject to change by the day and hour as we receive inquiries and conduct tours.


Clients are required to bring in their own alcohol including beer, wine and liquor. Barr Mansion provides all TABC-certified bartenders, glassware, mixers, garnishes and ice. Cash bars are not permitted.

Outside Vendors

Barr Mansion provides a preferred vendor list to booked clients only. Clients are not limited to using our preferred vendors. Below are the vendors Barr Mansion does not provide:

  • Entertainment (band, DJ, photo booths, etc.)
  • Floral/Décor (including decorative lighting)
  • Officiant
  • Photographer/Videographer
  • Alcohol
  • Transportation
  • Lodging

Rain Plans

Barr Mansion provides rain plan options dependent on guest count in both the Artisan Ballroom and Farmstead. Barr Mansion allows for tenting on property.

Cancellation Policy

If client cancels for any reason, Barr Mansion retains all deposits paid unless event date is re-booked at full price more than 100 days in advance. A change of date is considered a cancellation.

Use of Property

Barr Mansion does not schedule more than one event per rental period and clients receive full access to the property including the Mansion, Artisan Ballroom, Farmstead and lawn spaces during their rental period.


For security purposes, the Mansion remains locked during the reception and a security guard provided by Barr Mansion patrols the front of the property. Barr Mansion is not responsible for lost or stolen items and does not require additional security.


Clients receive a 1-hour rehearsal block scheduled no earlier than 2 months before the event date. Rehearsals are scheduled during business hours on a day prior to the wedding date in conjunction with event schedule.


Barr Mansion does not provide on-site accommodations and recommends lodging in areas such as downtown Austin (20-25 minute commute) the Domain (15-20 commute) or Arboretum (15-20 minute commute).


Barr Mansion requires clients to use our on-site, organic catering. Couples can opt to bring in cakes, desserts,and food trucks from outside vendors as long as the on-site kitchen facilities are not being used and booking minimums listed on price sheet are met.


Barr Mansion offers only 4 tastings a year dependent on event schedule and harvest season client is booked within. Tastings include seasonal chef favorites, Barr Mansion classic dishes, cakes, desserts and an open bar. Clients are given 3 months of advanced warning when their tasting is scheduled. Barr Mansion does not schedule private or small-group tastings. Tastings are restricted to booked clients and their guests only.


Barr Mansion allows for fire-burning candles as long as they are soy, beeswax or vegetable based. Taper candles must have a lip on the candle-holder and must have some sort of runner or material underneath to prevent damage to our tables and linens. The following are not permitted:

  • Tape, staples and nails
  • Confetti
  • Silly String
  • Petroleum-based candles

Exit Items

Barr Mansion allows for sparklers and thrown flower petals. The following are not permitted:

  • Chinese Lanterns
  • Confetti
  • Silly String
  • Bird Seed
  • Rice

Rental Time Allotment

Barr Mansion permits 2 hours of access prior to event start time for bridal party arrival/vendor set up and 5 hours from event start to end and 1 hour for vendor breakdown. Additional time may be purchased.

Outdoor Music

Barr Mansion does not have a music cut-off time or any sound ordinances.


Barr Mansion provides adequate parking space for up to our maximum capacity of 300. We allow for shuttles and charter buses to enter into our lot.


Barr Mansion is very pet friendly! As long as the animal is not destroying the grounds, has supervision and all waste is collected, we welcome your furry friend.

Photo Shoots

All Barr Mansion clients are allotted a free, 1-hour photo shoot included in the wedding package.

For non-clients, Barr Mansion charges $75/hour for shoots and may occur during business hours only between 10am-6pm. Upcharges are applied depending on the scale of the shoot.

Wheelchair Accessibility

Barr complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and all doors are wider than the 32” required for interior doors. We also have approved ramps leading to the Mansion, Ballroom, and Farmstead. We also have men’s and ladies restrooms that meet all the standards required.
